Right now (all this while) my creative corner, if I can call it so, is just somewhere inside my room. I alternated between my computer desk and the edge on my bed where I placed a small stool and sat while working on my cards. Now that I’ve been actively making cards, I keep all my tools and trades nearby within my reach.
In a 10′ x 12′ room with one queen size bed, two wardrobes, one 6-feet clothes railing (ooops! too many clothes eh?) and book shelves, at most of the time I wish my creative corner is a creative room instead. But that will not happen until this thing completed next year.
Soon, the room which supposed to be my library with a reclining sofa, will have to share with my studio (see how the name changes? :P).
I’ve been surfing around and found few craft studios that really inspiring, like when you sit there you just want to make cards and more cards. It made me green with envy. Anyway it helps, at least I know I need to draw extra item in the budget besides invisible grill, stove, oven, TV and everything else to keep me sane.
Here are my few favorites. I owe all pictures credits to respective studio owners, Ali Edwards, Kelly Lauten Bach and Nichole Heady.

I also have a name for my studio already! It’s ‘Me & My Big Mess‘.
How’s that?
I hope next year I can look back this entry while sitting inside ‘my mess’. Amin.

This is something that I promised Tini. She wanted to see what did I get during my Christmas shopping in Singapore last month. Am not gonna show the non-crafts ones (shoes, shirts etc :P) so here are the craft stuff that I got. I have to say this is not much as I expected, maybe because I missed Spotlight at Singapore Plaza

Gel ink (love it! should’ve buy 10 colors pack) and stickers.

Felt - 10 shades of them, but now I regret I didn’t get 20 shades.

Container with 12 adjustable partitions, S$4.05 yeehaw. If you know the price here, you’ll know why I went ‘yeehaw’ like that.

Iron-on patches. S$2.50 each. I was told it was damn cheaper in Bandung. Damn got to go there.

I’ve been looking for these for ages!! Quilling tools.

Craft wire in green and blue. Around S$3-4 per roll if I’m not mistaken. I * think * it’s 26 gauge. Heck they had so many colors and different gauge value. Dumped in a large case just like that. Gee.. I couldn’t even find one in KL. Opps I found, but RM4.50 per meter. Total rip off!!

Stuff I bought in Art Friend. Two different size of eyes, stamps, stamps and more stamps, and another set of quilling tool. Don’t ask why.

Paper clips and paper cords (4 shades in a set). S$2 each at Daiso ($2 shop). Errk.. duhh?
I received few inquiries on what kind of craft stuff I bought on eBay. That, deserves an entry on it’s own
p/s: dD, I didn’t have price list for cards that I made

Do you think some brands or taglines are purposely created to make fun of something? Or was it just me who always up into something with double meaning? This is what I found at a local grocer. It actually went inside the trolley (just out of curiosity) but I took other snacks and covered the pack all the way to the checkout counter. Hahaa!

It’s not even the end of January, but I think I’ve seen enough violence in movies this year. The last two movies I watched were really disturbing, I can’t seem to get the scenes out of my system. Sweeney Todd, and John Rambo 4. It didn’t leave me jumpy over a slightest touch. But those bloody-head-blown-over images are much scarier than ghosts.
But I still love Tim Burton nevertheless. His movies are always something something

I can’t wait to share this with all of you.
My blog has been approved for payperpost! Hooray! At first, I knew about it from Tini and went to payperpost website to read about it more. I was sold totally and submitted my blog to be reviewed. I have been actively posting and was thinking, hey, why not get paid for blogging at the same time? It is like being paid for doing things that you like.
Besides, it is not just mindless entry that I need to write. I need to brush up about the product, service or website that I choose. Yeah I can choose which one that I want to write about. I’m not committed to write about things I am not familiar with.
That’s not the best thing yet. The thing that make me decides to choose payperpost, is because the payment goes to my PayPal. Which is like, my holy grail of payment mode for my online shopping all this while. Haven’t I told you I got most of my cardmaking tools and resource from online retails? Now that I get more credit in my PayPal account, I can shop more cardmaking stuff, and maybe get the die cut machine I’ve been eyeing eh?
Join me in payperpost now! All you need is a blog and a Paypal account (which is easy peasy to sign up too, I believe most of us owned a credit/debit card already). Click the blue icon below, (or on the right side column) and let’s not miss this opportunity!

Eeeek!! I still feel making card for male species is challenging! From selecting colors to the design itself. This is actually my first time getting paid for making card. Heck I was not sure how much it worth, so I asked Chikanoz just to put the money inside my handphone purse before I left. Tee hee hee.
However, while handing it over to Chikanoz I realized the greetings layer inside (not shown in the pictures) was losen from the card. My sincere apology. Should’ve check it before handing it over.
So here it is. I think I’m still not over with my love with felt. Three cards using felt in a row. I should start using other methods before I bored myself with felt (but I love felt!). I want to try stamping but I’m still waiting for a right time to buy acrylic blocks. I have some clear stamps (including complete alphabets) but I still need the blocks. We’ll see.
Here’s how I did the numbers.

One of the things I learned, to achieve a clean cut felt, use small and sharp scissors.

I sew an outline on the number, just to add some dimension.

I did a matching envelope too

With recent very hot issue of plagiarism associated with Datin Natasha Hudson which had been discussed here, here and here (trust me the number is growing), I would like to somehow relate it to my card works. (’works’? now that sounds so anal, I’m very sure it’s not THAT big)
I, Laydiefa Raiza Farzly take full responsibility for all my craft works, published in this blog, facebook or anywhere else. All of my cards are original and free to become inspirations to anyone in any way, just like many other cards that inspired me.
However, I will NOT tolerate to any credits taken to my original works and true copy of any of my cards without credits given. This also implies to the images of my cards which are used here, facebook or anywhere else. Images are allowed only with links to here.
I also pledge that I WILL give credits to whoever cards that I copy and will copy. Although I think I will not do that. Wait! Why should I? Hmm..
I will also give credits and provide links of any card challenges that I join now and in the future.
Hehee. Hot Monday morning gossip. What a way to start the week eh Ms Lucy?
I’d rather born ugly and swap it with good working brains. Thank you.
p/s: I don’t know if I’m making any sense here, but if you’d like to know more, click the links given on top.

I’m sure every girl dreams of affectionate, loving, expressive and funloving partner in life. But as for now, I just want my future partner to understand my demanding job. Nothing more than that.
I might whine about it once in a while, but I really like what I’m doing. I can’t be like most ordinary women, and I never wanted to be ordinary.
