August 2008

Semalam selepas pulang dari kerja, saya telah ‘bergantungan’ dengan rakan saya, ‘Shasha Elite’ - bukan nama sebenar (dan rakan-rakan dia) sebelum mereka pulang ke Amerika Syarikat. Saya turut mengajak ex-boss Silent-Echo (’ex-boss’ sebab sekarang saya la boss, nyet nyet!

Nyet nyet!!

Saya belum sempat lagi naik Vios baru dia, dan dia dah beli ‘roda’ baru. Saya sedikit jeles, sebab saya start kerja dulu, tapi dia dah boleh maintain 2 kereta, tetapi pada masa yang sama, saya belum bersedia nak join company dia yang membayar gaji sangat besar tapi kerja teruk macam dia dan ‘ditch’ kawan² ketika trip ke Phuket (fuh, makan dalam nih!! mwahahaha). Lagipun kereta favorite saya masih lagi any 4 doors hatchback, atau any black SUV kalau saya ada rezeki untuk jadi ‘ibu bola sepak’. *in denial*

Tapi dia kata nak bawak saya test drive weekend ni, rasa sedikit excited jugak walaupun saya rasa tak berani nak bawak punye (dia tak offer pun, saya la yang perasan kih kih kih).

Sekian sahaja teaser saya untuk roda terbaru rakan saya ini. Cerita selanjutnya mungkin selepas saya mengambil gambar kereta dia nanti.

My birthday this year was a mixed up with total ups and downs. At one point I was high and thought euphoria was my middle name, and at some other point things just crushed me out. I highly appreciate your wish (pointing to nobody in general), but at the same time, in finding the happiness I’m wishing for, please allow me to become skeptical and selfish.

Happiness is overrated.

It’s 1AM and I still can’t get myself to sleep. It’s very hard to doze off when my brother is around. He slept on the next room, but his snoring was so loud it really bugs me off. He’s been snoring since he was a teenager, and I still remember it was much worse back then. To improve the situation, we normally wake him up there and then and asked him to lie straight. But he never stopped snoring completely.

It’s good to know that there’s a website which provides information about snoring and tips for the remedy. There are also some articles about research and exercises to prevent snoring.

If you’re sleep deprived like me because someone next to you snores, I recommend you to checkout the website.

I was in terrible coughing fit since Sunday. Yesterday I was rummaging the fridge to look for lime to make lime + honey juice so soothe the throat itchiness until I found packs of asam boi (preserved plum).

Woohoo! Screw lime + honey juice! I’m making limau asam boi (calamansi juice).

This is Lucy’s and me staple drink y’all. It’s so refreshing. Since I got the SLR handy and in the mood of sharing, here’s how to make Calamansi Juice.

For each glass you’ll need 2 limes, 3 heaping tablespoon of sugar (this sounds a lot I know, but you have to trust me on this one, and it’s really sour and it will help the juice thickens), a pinch (more like 1/4 teaspoon) of salt and 2 preserved plums.

Blend cold water, limes, sugar and salt together.

Sieve the mixture.

Pour into a glass full of ice cubes and dunk in the preserved plum.

To tell you the truth, after 2 glasses of this, my coughing got even worse. Kih kih kih..

I was once a student and wholeheartedly agree that tuition sessions helped me throughout my school years. Not that I’m saying teachers at school were not good enough, but having one-to-one session is actually an effective way of learning.

So how do you get a good tutor? I just read about Club Z! Tutoring Services and from the testimonials given, I’m sure they will not dissapoint you.

The subjects includs music lesson and speech theraphy. Besides, if you’re planning for SAT Test Prep, they have assessment test which covers just that and other tests too, such as TOEFL, LSAT and GED. Just pick any subject of your interest and call the nearest franchised office. Tuition are prepared from pre-kindergarten until adult.

..is.. LOSE WEIGHT!

I lose 12kg (from 58kg) for Eliza’s engagement. Just to fit into the ‘dayang’ clothes.

Then I purposely gained 3kg just because I hate to look so haggard and frail.

And for Lucy’s wedding where I became the bridesmaid, I lose 4kg.

This time I skipped rice and went for evening jogs (haha Lucy, nowww you know!).

I feel good, but not until this morning while getting ready for work. It took me 10 minutes just to choose the pants, because almost everything slipped down.

Should I say, hurray for shopping?

My computer used to be heavily installed with all kinds of media software. I used different editing and ripping software for audio, video and images. But my recent finding was a really good news, I just eliminated all those software and replaced them with just one software, Blaza Media Pro.

It supports lots of format, including CD, MP3, WAV, WMA, AVI , MPEG-1, MPEG-2, WMV, iPod, PSP, 3GP, and MOV (there are many more, check out their site). This software is said able to do conversion, editing, recording and ripping too.

I just tried to convert AVI to MPG, with their easy to use interface, all was done so fast. I’m going to be busy this weekend exploring more about Blaze Media Pro.

I’ve been having huge cravings for Dominos Thin Crust Pizza since few days back. I could make pizza from scratch, even hosted a pizza party with my friends once,  and I know I could’ve buy anytime from the outlet, but the only thing that sets me back is, my family just left to the east coast, so I’m living alone until their return. Boring okay makan pizza besar sorang-sorang. By the way, if you want to know how it feels living/sleeping alone, which I’ve been doing since 1 year back, it sucks with capital S. Sunyi. I even thought of signing up for nursing home.

Anyways, thought I should just settle for instant pizza. Which is super duper easy, doesn’t need waiting time for the dough to proof, and could be done in a jiffy.

All you need:

1. Slices of bread (white/brown/green/black, up to you)
2. Tomato sauce
3. Italian spices (oregano, thyme, basil)
3. Toppings (whatever, you can also use leftovers, I’m using sausage slices, tomatoes and onion here)
4. Cheese (cheddar slices/mozzarella)

All you have to do:

1. Prepare the toppings, in my case, cut the sausages, tomatoes and onion into slices.

2. Spread tomato sauce on bread, then sprinkle some Italian spices.

3. Arrange the toppings on top. Then  sprinkle loaaads of cheese :p

dsc_4918_r.jpg

6. Put them in the oven, 180 - 200 degree Celcius, until the cheese melts. I think maybe around 5-7 minutes.

7. Devour.

I swear at this point of my instant pizza consumption, I already reached orgasm twice. Haha.

These days, I spent most of my time at home watching Olympic Games on TV. The whole family is following the games, so I guess I have no choice but to follow suit. Other televisions in the house are without the cables. There are few channels broadcasting different games at one time so it kinda interesting since we are given options.

During the Olympic Games, I noticed lots of companies holding contest and games to commemorate Olympic spirit. My company held a ‘mini Olympic’ last week, and so are the school and colleges.

I just got to know that bet365 Casino is promoting Going For Gold as part of their spirit for the Olympic Games in Beijing. They are giving out cash with the total of £50,000. They introduced 20 games, where player will be able to win gold, silver and bronze medals, depending on their places. Each game is allocated with 100 medals, not 3, so that will definitely increase your chance of winning right?

Your medals will be converted into cash at the end of the competition, plus some more according to your status in bet365 Royalty Scheme.

If you want to read further, here’s the press release:

As the world gathers for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, the Casino at bet365 is marking this great occasion with their own incredible £50,000 Going For Gold promotion.

Over the course of the Olympic Games there are 20 exciting Going for Gold events taking place at bet365 where players can compete for both cash prizes and medals. The more medals that you win, the higher up the leaderboard you are placed and greater your chance of winning the top prizes.

In each event, the top 100 players will each win a medal. The first 15 players will receive a Gold medal, the next 35 players will win a Silver medal and the next 50 will be rewarded with a Bronze medal. At the end of the competition, players will be awarded cash prizes according to their final position on the leaderboard and their status in the bet365 VIP Royalty Scheme.

“We’re aiming to emulate the spirit and excitement of the Olympic Games with this promotion” explains Tom Galanis, Casino Marketing Manager at bet365. “Here anyone from many nations is welcome to participate and compete for the glory of victory. Everyone has a chance of winning a medal plus the opportunity to win one of our great cash prizes.”

As well as the Going For Gold promotion which runs from the 9th to the 24th of August, there are many other reasons to visit the Casino at bet365. These include progressive jackpots on the slots worth hundreds of thousands of pounds, the thrill of live dealer Blackjack and Roulette, an excellent Royalty Scheme and a wealth of information to help improve your game.

So whether you’re Going for Gold this August or just want to experience heart pounding fun at one of the best casinos on the internet, remember that there’s always something for everyone in the Casino at bet365.

I don’t remember when was the last time I have this kind of migraine. I didn’t touch any painkillers since I started doing yoga in January.

So yesterday I decided to let it out again from my system. Hoping a decent conversation would lead to certainties. But it didn’t happen.

Things would be easier if you just open up and tell me things. I’m cool with any reasons, but ‘I don’t knows’ and ‘entahs’ were certainly not helping.

I should come out with an idiom:
‘as numb as *put my name here*’.

Education will bring you a long way. Studying at prestigious teaching places like University of Bedfordshire will confirm education quality. Starting from 14th August, the university bring offer its clearing vacancies. I’m very interested but have few doubts about courses to take and financial matter. I’m planning to attend Clearing 2008 to ask them myself.

I hope to make it among the excellent students from the Bedfordshire. Let’s follow me to University of Bedfordshire Clearing 2008!

Last 2 weeks I was given the opportunity to co-organize a hen night bash (which later secretly became BITCH-ELLORATE night) for soon to be bride Ms Lucy.

The theme was Pink, Bling & Kink. We wore pink, dined at pink (Bijou) and karaoke at pink (Neway). We called it a night around 3 in the morning and went back with sore throats. Everything were so pink, pink and pink, I ended up not wearing any pink attire the week after, heh.

As if it was not pink and kink enough, I made head boppers for the girls and pink veils for Ms Lucy. Then handmade fridge magnets as door gift since Ms Lucy collects fridge magnet herself (so besides shoes, you know what to get her for the wedding and birthdays, people!). I’ll blog about the fridge magnet later okay.

All in all, we had a great time and here are some of the pictures. Of course there are more but I don’t want to turn you pink too.

Thanks to Sarah and Hunny for co-organizing a memorable party and Farah, Jack, Liza for the fun.

Ms Lucy will become Mrs. Fairuz in about 27 hours, so babe, here’s for you. I wish nothing but the best, bester, bestest for you, always. I’m going to stop before the waterworks begin :p

Enjoy the pics.
